Estate Sales Cape Cod Style – How to find the best!

You don’t have to look too far to find some of the best estate sales Cape Cod has going – each and every week.

Most people will pick up a copy of The Cape Cod Times and look in the Classified Section under Garage and Yard Sales; the Estate Sales will be listed there.
Antiques and Vintage Telescope     You can also search their site online for the upcoming Cape Cod estate sales. … and then print them out to bring with you.  You can even filter searches to the towns you specify. If you are like most sale goers, you will be wanting to go to more than just one sale – hence, the paper copy.  You can also find a lot of general or neighborhood yard sales as well.

Most of the better Estate Sale companies will also have a written and visual Preview of their upcoming sale, so I would also check their individual websites listed below.  You should be able to get a pretty good idea if any particular sale is one that will interest you, before you even get there.

Some of the smaller local papers like the Register and Cape Codder will also have listings, but the CCTimes is by far the best resource.

Most will not list in the newspapers/sites  until Thursday (for a sale beginning on a Friday) or Friday, so keep that in mind.  It’s best to look for upcoming sales the night before you’re heading out, and print out or copy down where you want to go as mentioned earlier,  because you want as early a start as possible in the morning – the early bird always gets the worm, especially when having to deal with the local dealers.  They are serious and are always trying to be first in line, but don’t let them scare you.

But remember to have FUN!
It’s always exhilarating to find something you’ve been looking for for a long time, or just something that catches your fancy at a price that can’t be beat.

  1. West Bay Estate Sales – Worst experience ever! Very nice at first until the contract is signed. They were slow, unorganized, slow to answer, if at all, emails and telephone calls. For a 3,000 square foot home full of furniture and everything else you can think of, I only made $850.00 They took the bedroom furniture and other furniture unsold at the estate sale to sell at her resale place. I never got a dime and calls were avoided. Told me I would get some money for what was sold at her resale place and paper work for tax purposes. Never heard from them, many e-mails and phone calls – answered. SHE STOLE THAT FROM THE ESTATE!

After a death of a loved one, this took my grieving to another level.
